Are You Eligible for Stabilization?

 

 

Army Reserve

 

 


If you are affiliating directly from the Active Army into a active drilling unit, you will not mobilize during your first 24 months, unless you volunteer for unit deployment.


 

 

 

Army National Guard

 

 


The following states and territories offer 24 months stabilization with no pre-requisites: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IN, KY, LA, MS, ND, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA,PR, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, and WY.


The following states and territories offer different amounts of stabilization periods with no pre-requites:

  • DC - 18 months (excluding 275th MPC)
  • HI - 30 months
  • IA - 12 months
  • NC - 24 months (excluding 30th HCBT)
  • NH - 12 months

 The following states and territories offer stabilization with pre-requisites:

  • AK - 24 months (OIF/OEF deployment within 12 months of ETS and affiliate for a 3 year minimum)
  • CT - 24 months (Deployment)
  • DC - 24 months (Deployment within 18 months of ETS, excluding the 275th MPC)
  • DE - 24 months (GWOT deployment)
  • IA - 24 months (OIF/OEF deployment or dependent restricted tour within 12 months of ETS)
  • ID - 24 months (Minimum of 6 months deployed within 24 months of ETS)
  • IL - 36 months (Operational deployment)
  • ME - 24 months (OIF/OEF deployment)
  • MN - 24 months (Deployment within 12 months of ETS)
  • MO - 24months (CENTCOM AOR combat tour within 12 months of ETS)
  • MT - 24 months (OIF/OEF deployment since March 2005)
  • NE - 24 months (Enlist for a 3 year minimum)
  • NH - 24 months (GWOT deployment)
  • NM - 24 months (Deployment within 12 months of ETS and affiliate for a 2 year minimum)
  • NV - 12 months (OIF/OEF deployment within 12 months of ETS)
  • OK 24 months (Participated in OIF/OEF within 12 months of ETS)
  • RI - 24 months (OIF/OEF deployment; stabilization equals double the amount of deployment)
  • UT - 24 months (affiliate for a 2 year minimum or remaining MSO, whichever is longer)

 The following states and territories offer multiple stabilization periods with prerequisites:

  • KS - 24 months (CENTCOM AOR combat tour within 24 months of ETS)
  • KS - 36 months (Medical & Dental Officers with an AOC of 61N, 62B, 63A, 63R, 65D, 66B, and 67A
  • MI - 12 months (Returning from dependent restricted tour within 12 months of ETS)
  • MI - 36 months (Deployment within imminent danger pay area)

 The following states and territories offer no stabilization periods: GU, VI, WI, and WV.
