Wounded Warrior Career Options

Continuing a career in the Active Army or in the Reserve is a viable option for many wounded Soldiers. If you are a wounded Soldier, an AW2 advocate can assist you in pursuing the Continuation on Active Duty or Reserve (COAD/COAR) process every step of the way. Learn more about your career opportunities by contacting your AW2 advocate or call AW2 headquarters at (800) 237-1336.

If you are a Soldier assigned to a Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) upon returning to duty, read the guidance for processing reenlistment, reclassification, retirement, and separation. In addition, you can also access information for processing WTU evaluations.

WTU Consolidated Guidance prescribes policy and procedures for the administration of Soldiers assigned/attached to WTU, and is subject to non-regimented change. 

Army Wounded Warrior (AW2) program assists you and your family throughout your lifetime. AW2 provides unique services, even to the most severely wounded, by assisting you with future career planning and the employment application process. Subject matters experts are proficient in educating you on obtaining full VA and Army benefits, healthcare after retiring, financial assistance to purchase a home, and deserved awards.

Always a Soldier program provides you the opportunity to seek specific employment tracks, career advancement, job mobility, family economic well being, and greater financial security in wage grade and government service positions, or internship programs.

Military-Money-Matters assists you in reducing/eliminating your debt and income taxes, creating additional income, establishing your own business, making high-earning investments, and retirement planning and saving.
